We are currently seeking a Help Desk/Desktop Technician to join our community-oriented hospital team.
About your career at HVCH:
As a Help Desk/Desktop Technician, you'll provide necessary support in the Information Services to department, assisting to remediate and communicate issues and needs pertaining to the desktop computing environment in the Hospital.
Expectations for this position:
Responsible for the timely resolution of customer issues in a desktop or remote desktop support capacity. This includes the remote and hands on diagnosis and repair of desktop hardware and peripheral units or components and their connectivity in a wired or wireless environment
Install, monitor and service desktop hardware and peripheral units or components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives. This includes but is not limited to, PC's, laptops, phones, scanners, printers, software, and handheld devices.
Load and verify operation of software packages, such as operating system, word processing and spreadsheet programs
Coordinate service from vendor supported equipment such as printers when necessary
Serve as liaison between vendors and customers to install or repair vendor supported installations of software and hardware on HVCH IT supported desktops and peripherals.
Provide training and technical assistance to users
Maintain accurate and concise asset records during adds/moves/changes. This includes recording the movement of inventory, and changes pertaining to users, locations, and naming conventions to assure recoverability and maintenance of systems.
Documents and complete project tasks as assigned
Work with department members as part of a project team. This may include working with other technicians or individually to provide the technical desktop support and deployment skills within the framework of a project.
What you need for the job:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or at least 2 years equivalent experience, or and equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
Working knowledge of and experience with desktop hardware and peripheral units or components and their connectivity in a wired or wireless environment.
Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products
Ability to work independently and as part of a deal, accountable for completing assignments and projects in a timely manner, responsive to requests, and flexible when situations change

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
